The Cheffing Don

I traveled to Kingston and a relative recommended The Cheffing Don. I am so glad we went because every single dish I ordered was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor while still being 100% vegan. It honestly exceeded my expectations. I had the Lentil Stew, Pumpkin Takari, Coconut Curry Tofu, Cauliflower Rice, Pastafari and the Pumpkin Punch. The Pastafari was my favorite and I found myself wishing I had ordered more. It can be difficult to find a good vegan restaurant when traveling so it felt amazing to visit The Cheffing Don where the food is wholesome, flavorful and true to the culture. Everything was prepared quickly, the prices were very reasonable and the whole experience left me smiling. I’m already excited to return the next time I’m in Jamaica. The Cheffing Don is a must visit while in Kingston!

I tried the veggie fried rice, fried ripe plantains, jerked tofu (tasted like chicken sauce was sooo goooood), polenta, steamed vegetables, pastafari (had curry on it was so good). The food was very good and it was all vegan. Bog up big up!!! Wish I got more servings but it was really tasty. I tried the cucumber pine juice and the cherry pine juice both were refreshing. I was full!!

When I tell you I did not miss the meat today! The young lady on the phone was pleasant and helped in making my decision to add the pasta. The steamed veg was not overcooked and had the perfect crunch. Everything was delicious and the portion served me 2x. It was my 1st time ordering and I will definitely be having more lunches from Cheffin Don

New location (as at Jan 4, 2021) for the restaurant is at 121 1/2 Constant Spring Road, at Millbrook plaza upstairs the Dragon Garden Chinese restaurant. It's located shortly after you pass the intersection of short wood road and constant spring road heading in the direction of Oakland's apartments or manor park. Today I had the lentil stew, steamed vegetables, raw vegetables, pumpkin takari and black rice. Clean eating for a reasonable price. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Doesn't matter if your or vegan or not, they ital (vegan) food is sure to make your palate happy, operated by persons of good vibes and healthy lifestyle which reflected in their food.

I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Don several years ago on our trip to Kingston and eventually St Andrew's. The food was beyond excellent, rich in flavour, passion, and clear mastery of vegan cooking. I would highly recommend Chef Don's ital food to any vegan or someone craving a delicious, hearty, vegetable based lunch or dinner. See you soon Chef!

Overall, the meal was great. Not so much the salad. Great customer service. The pumpkin punch was a hit with my husband.
